Master Your Focus, Hit Your Goals

Master Your Focus, Hit Your Goals

People tend to say that being able to focus is hard. But I say that being able to focus is actually relatively easy. However, being able to focus on the right thing is what’s truly hard.

As a human being, it is hard to not constantly fuss and worry about situations that we have no control over but remember that doing just that is taking away precious time and energy that could be used to further better ourselves and bring us closer to our goals. Where focus goes, energy flows. By dividing your focus in such a way, it will take you longer to get important things done and you’ll find that the work you produce would merely be average due to the lack of concentration you put into it.

Make a list of things you have to do and want to accomplish. Prioritise. You have to clarify your goals, to know what you really want and more importantly, why you want it. The reason you want to achieve these goals is extremely vital because it becomes your drive and motivation. It will give you the strength you need to focus on doing everything you can to achieve the goals that you have set as well as get rid of all the excuses you used to make in order to avoid doing work. A good productivity planner can be a great tool to help you prioritise and organize your life.

Another thing that prevents us from focusing 100% would be none other than our cellular devices. Our phones can be such distractions, what with all the social media notifications and messages that entice you to use your phone for hours on end. Every time your screen lights up, it just tempts you to stop whatever you’re doing. It is that addictive, and we’re really not even aware of it.

So, what you should do is to set aside a couple of hours every day to just disconnect and focus purely on the task at hand. You’ll find that these distraction-free zones will enable you to get things done quicker and better.

In order to master your focus, what helps would be to create habits in your life. If you had a set schedule that you cycle through every day, it allows you to focus purely on whatever you have to do at that particular moment in time. That way, you aren’t distracted by everything else you need to do because you know that everything you need to do will most definitely get done eventually, like clockwork.

Mastering your FOCUS is not something easily achieved. But that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. It just takes lots of discipline, motivation, as well as the right mindset but once you’ve got this whole focus thing down, trust me when I say that life will become a lot easier and you will most definitely start seeing yourself moving towards your goals at a much faster rate, which is more than any of us could ever ask for, isn’t it?
